LOS ANGELES, June 3 (UPI) -- Mark-Paul Gosselaar's publicist confirmed Thursday the U.S. actor and Lisa Ann Russell, his wife of 14 years, have separated.

The couple, who married in 1996, have a son and daughter together.

"They both remain focused on their family and are jointly committed to their children," Gosselaar's representative told People.com.

No reason was specified for the breakup, the Web site said.

Gosselaar is best known for his work on TV's "Saved By the Bell," "NYPD Blue" and "Raising the Bar." He also will be seen later this year in the new series "Franklin & Bash."
