LOS ANGELES, May 3 (UPI) -- Betty White has signed up as a guest star on the U.S. sitcom "The Middle," ABC announced Monday.
"The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and "The Golden Girls" actress will play Mrs. Nethercott, a librarian who tries to keep Brick, played by Atticus Shaffer, from advancing to the third grade because he has failed to return 31 books, the network said.
The episode is to air May 19.
The series stars Patricia Heaton, Neil Flynn, Charlie McDermott, Eden Sher and Chris Kattan.
