NEW YORK, April 29 (UPI) -- Retired professional boxer Mike Tyson is to make his first appearance on the U.S. chat show "The View," ABC announced.

The boxer is to be a guest on the May 7 edition of the show.

"This interview marks the first time that ('View' co-host and producer) Barbara Walters and Tyson will speak since her 1988 '20/20' joint interview with Tyson and then-wife Robin Givens," ABC said in a news release. "Tyson is promoting a new series for Animal Planet and a documentary of his life. He recently made a cameo appearance on the big screen in the hit comedy 'The Hangover.'"
