Barack Obama to introduce 'Story of Us'

NEW YORK, April 22 (UPI) -- U.S. President Barack Obama is to deliver a special message at the beginning of the 12-hour series "America -- The Story of Us," the cable channel History said.

The six-night television event is to begin Sunday. New episodes will premiere on subsequent Sundays through Memorial Day weekend.

The network described the series, which is being presented by Bank of America, as "a national educational initiative covering 400 years of American history."

History said it will also offer a DVD of the 12-hour series to every school and accredited college in the United States free of charge.

The series is narrated by film star Liev Schreiber.
