NEW YORK, April 9 (UPI) -- Writer-comedian Chris Gethard has been hired to replace Jon Heder as the lead in Comedy Central's upcoming U.S. sitcom "Big Lake," EW.com said.

Heder quit the show, which is being produced by Will Ferrell, last month citing creative differences.

Gethard is a regular with the Upright Citizens Brigade comedy troupe, and has written for "Saturday Night Live" and the Onion News Network, EW.com noted.

Co-starring Chris Parnell and Horatio Sanz, "Big Lake" is about a financial wizard who loses his job and moves back home with his parents.
