LOS ANGELES, April 6 (UPI) -- Nicollette Sheridan has filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court alleging her former "Desperate Housewives" boss assaulted and wrongfully terminated her.

The actress' character Edie was killed off of the TV comedy series last year.

Sheridan claims in the $20 million lawsuit she filed Monday that show creator Marc Cherry created a hostile work environment, "behaving in an extremely abusive and aggressive manner," People.com reported.

The actress alleged Cherry hit her in the face on the set of the show and she said she was fired from the series after she complained about him to ABC.

Sheridan estimated her dismissal resulted "in her losing millions in future earnings," People.com said.
