LOS ANGELES, March 30 (UPI) -- Shannen Doherty became the first celebrity eliminated from this season of the U.S. competition series "Dancing with the Stars" Tuesday night.
"I think dancing isn't really my thing. I'm an actor and it's what I love to do. I did this for my dad and I did exactly what I wanted and I think it's kind of fate that my partner is hurt and he's out for six weeks and, to be honest, I wouldn't want to go on without Mark," Doherty said upon learning her fate.
Host Tom Bergeron then explained Doherty's professional dance partner, Mark Ballas, injured his knee during a dress rehearsal and would not have been able to perform on the show even if he and Doherty hadn't been eliminated.
"We have been happy to keep you for as long as we've had," Bergeron told Doherty.
