Report: Lowe to join 'Parks' cast

LOS ANGELES, March 4 (UPI) -- Hollywood actor Rob Lowe has signed up to appear in several episodes of the TV comedy "Parks and Recreation," sources told EW.com.

Lowe has starred in the TV series "The West Wing" and "Brothers & Sisters." His film credits include "The Invention of Lying," "Wayne's World," "St. Elmo's Fire," "The Outsiders" and the "Austin Powers" film franchise.

EW.com said no details have been revealed about the actor's character or storyline on "Parks," NBC's single-camera comedy about a quirky crew of municipal government employees in a small town in Indiana. It stars Amy Poehler and Rashida Jones.
