LOS ANGELES, March 3 (UPI) -- U.S. actor Michael Imperioli has been cast in a new ABC drama pilot called "187 Detroit," TVGuide.com reported.

Imperioli is best known for his work on "The Sopranos" and "Life on Mars."

His latest TV project is set in the homicide division of a Detroit police precinct. His character is a brilliant detective with a near-perfect record of closing cases, the report said.
