Lady Antebellum earns 7 ACM nods

NEW YORK, March 2 (UPI) -- U.S. band Lady Antebellum earned seven nods when nominations for the 45th annual Academy of Country Music Awards were announced Tuesday.

Singers Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood are up for six awards apiece, while Taylor Swift was nominated for five prizes, and Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley and the Zac Brown Band each earned four nominations. Singer Zac Brown was nominated for an additional two awards.

In the running for the evening's top prize of entertainer of the year are Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, George Strait, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban and the Zac Brown Band.

The winners of the ACM awards are to be announced during a ceremony at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas April 18. The star-studded gala is to air on the CBS Television Network.

Country music star Reba McEntire is expected to return for a 12th time as host of the event.
