LOS ANGELES, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- Police in Vancouver say they have been receiving tips about missing former "Growing Pains" actor Andrew Koenig and are looking for a living person.
Koenig, 41, is the son of "Star Trek" icon Walter Koenig. His family reported him missing Sunday after they hadn't heard from him since Feb. 14. The younger Koenig, who suffered from depression, then missed a scheduled Feb. 16 flight home to California from Vancouver without explanation.
TMZ cited unnamed police sources Tuesday as saying callers have reported seeing Koenig from as far away as the remote west coast of Canada's Vancouver Island, as well as in locations closer to the city.
Koenig's "Growing Pains" co-star Kirk Cameron has reached out to Koenig, offering help and asking Koenig to call him, People.com said.
"I am praying for his family during this time of distress and for his safe return," Cameron said in a statement Monday. "Andrew, if you're reading this, please call me. ... (Our characters) Mike and Boner could always work things out when they put their minds to it. I'm praying for you, pal. Hope to hear from you soon."
