'Hurt,' 'Holmes' among ADG Awards honorees

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Feb. 14 (UPI) -- Judges for the Art Directors Guild Awards said the U.S. films "The Hurt Locker" and "Sherlock Holmes" won for best contemporary and period films respectively.

In addition to honoring Karl Juliusson for "Hurt" and Sarah Greenwood for "Sherlock" Saturday in Beverly Hills, Calif., judges gave Rick Carter and Robert Stromberg a ADG award for best fantasy film for "Avatar," The Los Angeles Times said.

Joseph P. Lucky of "Weeds" was honored with an ADG Award for best half-hour single camera for the "Ducks and Tigers" episode of the Showtime cable TV show.

In the best one-hour single camera series category, Dan Bishop was honored for his work on the "Souvenir" episode of the AMC series "Mad Men."

Other winners at Saturday night's awards show included "Hell's Kitchen," which was named best multi-camera variety or unscripted series, and Kalina Ivanov, who was honored with a best television movie or miniseries award for "Grey Gardens."

A Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to production designer Terence Marsh during the Beverly Hilton Hotel ceremony.
