D'Angelo lands guest spot on 'Cougar Town'

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 12 (UPI) -- Actress Beverly D'Angelo is set to guest star on an upcoming episode of the U.S. comedy series "Cougar Town," ABC said Friday.

The "National Lampoon's Vacation" star is to play the estranged mother of Laurie, who is portrayed by Busy Philipps on "Cougar Town."

"Laurie needs a co-signer to buy her first condo and finds her less-than-stellar, absentee mother no help at all," the network said in a news release.

D'Angelo is to appear in the March 3 installment of the show.
