Mother said Josh Powell threatened her

CHICAGO, Jan. 30 (UPI) -- U.S. TV talk show host Oprah Winfrey said she bought herself two 14-week-old springer spaniels for her 56th birthday.
People.com reported Winfrey, whose birthday was Friday, now has five dogs.
Winfrey trotted her new pets out on her "Oprah Winfrey Show" studio set, telling her audience "I want you to meet my two new babies."
Winfrey said she got the dogs from an animal shelter, PAWS Chicago.
The TV star said the shelter helped her find the springer spaniels, named Sunny and Lauren, in time to save their lives, People magazine reported.
"They just arrived in time for my birthday," Winfrey said. "They could have been euthanized if they weren't adopted. Can you believe that? And now they're gonna go home with me."
