SANTAQUIN, Utah, Jan. 25 (UPI) -- Former child television star Gary Coleman has been arrested for alleged domestic assault and is now in a Santaquin, Utah, jail, officials said.

Coleman, 41, is being held on $1,725 bail, People.com said Sunday, adding the alleged victim has not been publicly identified. Coleman's acting career has been overshadowed in recent years by reports of his health problems and legal woes.

Earlier this month, he was hospitalized after suffering a seizure. More recently, he settled a lawsuit brought against him by a fan who says Coleman tried to run him over with his truck when he attempted to take a photo of him with his cell phone in a bowling alley parking lot. The terms of the settlement were not disclosed.

People.com said the former "Diff'rent Strokes" star appeared on TV's "Divorce Court" with his wife, Shannon Price, to hash out some of their marital problems in 2008 and Price was arrested after a domestic violence incident involving the actor last year.
