Rue McClanahan suffers minor stroke

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 14 (UPI) -- Rue McClanahan's publicist says the U.S. television actress has suffered a minor stroke following heart bypass surgery, E! News reported Thursday.

McClanahan, 75, is best known for her work on the TV comedy "The Golden Girls."

Her representative told E! McClanahan underwent heart surgery in November and then spent two weeks in a hospital intensive care unit after doctors successfully removed a blood clot from her brain.

The actress is in physical therapy and expected to be discharged from the hospital by the end of the month, the publicist said.
