NEW YORK, Jan. 9 (UPI) -- A source at Fox says the U.S. TV network is considering trying to lure comedian Conan O' Brien to a late-night talk show its may launch.

"We've always been interested in late night and we're always looking to bring great new talent to Fox," the source said. "While Conan would be a great fit for Fox, he's still under contract with NBC, so we'll just see how all of this plays out."

Other Fox insiders suggest talks of a possible O'Brien series on the network will like not reach fruition given the success of late-night sitcoms on Fox-affiliated stations nationwide.

O'Brien is the host of NBC's "The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien" after assuming the late-night post from Jay Leno, who now has his own prime time series on NBC.
