NEW YORK, Dec. 23 (UPI) -- TV Land has announced plans to add re-runs of the U.S. comedy series "Home Improvement," to its lineup in 2010.

The show, starring Tim Allen and Debbe Dunning, was originally broadcast from 1991 to 1999.

Beginning Jan. 4, the series will kick off its TV Land premiere with a weeklong marathon featuring the accident-prone character Tim Taylor as he tries to balance the drama and chaos of his life as a husband and father with starring in his fix-it television show "Tool Time."

"TV Land is thrilled to add another hugely popular and much-loved television family to our network," Larry W. Jones, TV Land's president, said in a statement Tuesday. "Men and women alike love to watch with Tim Allen's lovingly know-it-all character on the show because they either know someone just like him ... or they are married to him."
