CHAPMAN, Kan., Dec. 13 (UPI) -- A couple who received a Kansas home from the TV series "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" said they are moving their family to another state.
The Salina (Kan.) Journal said Saturday that Patrick and Crystal Tutwiler have put their "Makeover" home in Chapman, Kan., up for sale at $298,900 with the intent to move with their four children and a nephew to a different state.
"There came a moment where we decided we couldn't be happy here," Crystal Tutwiler, 26, said.
"We absolutely hate to leave the house. I wish we could pack it up and take it with us, but the house isn't what makes you happy."
The family's former home was destroyed by a tornado on June 11, 2008. To help the family recover from the natural disaster, the "Makeover" crew constructed a 2,500-square-foot home for the Tutwilers.
Crystal Tutwiler, whose 26-year-old husband was wounded while serving in Iraq, said the Chapman home was a tourist attraction for months after the "Makeover" visit in November 2008.
"We still had people taking pictures up until it got real cold. People knocking on the door stopped (this past summer)," she told the Journal.
