LOS ANGELES, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- TLC says Hollywood film icon Harrison Ford has narrated its new documentary about the landing of US Airways Flight 1549 in New York's Hudson River.

The star of the "Indiana Jones" and "Star Wars" blockbuster franchises also is a pilot.

He lends his voice to TLC's "Brace for Impact," a special about "Hero of the Hudson" Capt. Chesley B. "Sully" Sullenberger, III, who safely landed the commercial airliner in the river after a bird strike caused the plane to lose power in both engines on Jan. 15, 2009.

Set to premiere Jan. 10, the one-hour program features interviews with Sullenberger, passengers, air traffic controllers and first responders who assisted in the extraordinary landing, which resulted in no fatalities.

"I'm honored and gratified by the attention I've received as a result of this event. On Jan. 15, we had a remarkably good day, and I'm proud that my crew and I were up to the task," Sullenberger said in a statement. "I am sure that this documentary will convey the ongoing power of this story and its ability to touch and inspire people around the world."

"'Brace for Impact' not only celebrates Sully, but honors everyone involved in making this event, and its positive outcome, so unforgettable," added Eileen O'Neill, TLC's president and general manager. "With the aid of personal stories and amazing CGI, viewers will be taken through the entire, incredible journey."
