LOS ANGELES, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- About 5.4 million people tuned in for the premiere of Ray Romano's U.S. television comedy series "Men of a Certain Age" Monday night, TNT said Tuesday.

The former "Everybody Loves Raymond" star appears in the new hourlong show alongside Scott Bakula and Andre Braugher.

"The response from viewers and critics to 'Men of a Certain Age' has been amazing," Michael Wright -- executive vice president and head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies -- said in a statement. "I'm proud of everyone involved with this wonderful series, especially its creators, Ray Romano and Mike Royce, and the great cast headed by Ray, Andre Braugher and Scott Bakula."
