LOS ANGELES, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- FX says it has ordered a third season of its U.S. biker drama "Sons of Anarchy," starring Katey Sagal and Ron Perlman.

The second season of the series ended Tuesday.

The 13-episode third season is scheduled to start airing in September, TVGuide.com reported.

"The success of 'Sons of Anarchy' is very gratifying and the show has become a bona-fide hit," FX President and General Manager John Landgraf told the television industry magazine's Web site.
