'Office,' 'Weeds' up for PGA comedy award

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 30 (UPI) -- "30 Rock," "Californication," "Entourage," "The Office" and "Weeds" have been nominated for the Producers Guild of America's award for best comedy series.

The nominees for the Danny Thomas Producer of the Year Award in Episodic Television -- Comedy were announced Monday.

In the running for the Norman Felton Producer of the Year Award in Episodic Television -- Drama are "Breaking Bad," "Dexter," "Lost," "Mad Men" and "True Blood."

Shortlisted for the PGA Producer of the Year Award in Non-Fiction Television are "60 Minutes," "Deadliest Catch," "Intervention," "Kathy Griffin: My Life on the 'D' List" and "This American Life."

Nominated for the PGA Producer of the Year Award in Live Entertainment and Competition Television are "The Amazing Race," "American Idol," "The Colbert Report," "Project Runway" and "Top Chef."

Nominations for PGA awards in the theatrical motion picture and long-form television categories are to be announced Jan. 5, along with the individual producers in all categories.

The winners in each category are to be announced at the PGA Awards ceremony Jan. 24 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.
