LONDON, Nov. 29 (UPI) -- The brother of Susan Boyle said U.S. actress Kathy Bates should portray his sister in a film about the amateur Scottish singer's life.

Boyle's brother, Gerry, said his sister's journey from musical obscurity to widespread popularity from her performance on "Britain's Got Talent" is worthy of a film about her life, RadarOnline.com reported Saturday.

"There have been scripts made from a lot less than Susan's story which by any standards is remarkable," Boyle's brother told the Web site. "I would not be surprised in the least if there was a film made of her life and I would personally like to see Kathy Bates play my sister."

Boyle's brother also told RadarOnline.com his 48-year-old sister's debut album "I Dreamed a Dream" will enjoy great success outside the United Kingdom thanks to the Scottish singer's unique story.

"I think that the sales of her CD will also be strong in other markets around the world because Susan's story is so unique and it gives a lot of people hope," he said.
