LOS ANGELES, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- U.S. Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus has signed up to make a cameo appearance on the military investigative drama series "NCIS," CBS announced Monday.

Mabus is to appear on the show set to air Nov. 24, the network said.

"In the episode 'Child's Play,' the team must put their Thanksgiving plans on hold when the death of a Marine leads them to a government think tank that employs child prodigies. Secretary Mabus will play an NCIS agent," CBS said in a news release.
