ATLANTA, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Comedian Katt Williams was arrested in Georgia early Monday on burglary and criminal trespassing charges, a law enforcement official said.

A deputy at the Coweta County jail confirmed Williams' arrest to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, but did not offer details about the alleged incident that led to his incarceration.

Williams, 36, starred in his own stand-up special on HBO and has served as host of the BET awards. His film credits include "Friday After Next," "Norbit" and "First Sunday."
