LOS ANGELES, Nov. 8 (UPI) -- A representative for Layla Kayleigh said the co-host of the U.S. TV series "America's Best Dance Crew" gave birth to her first daughter.

The unidentified representative said Melody Rain Covino, the first child for Kayleigh and her boyfriend, Steven Covino, weighed 8 pounds, 10 ounces, People.com reported Saturday.

Kayleigh, who hosts the MTV dance competition along with actor Mario Lopez, said on Twitter Wednesday she was extremely happy about giving birth to her daughter Monday.

"On cloud nine. (C)herishing, savoring, taking in every single moment," Kayleigh said through the social networking service.

Kayleigh, 25, and Covino, host of the Sirius/Maxim Radio program "Covino and Rich," announced in June they were expecting their first child. People magazine said the couple has been dating for three years.
