LOS ANGELES, Oct. 19 (UPI) -- The ABC Television Network says it plans to use skywriting in various U.S. cities to promote its new science-fiction series, "V."

"Beginning Oct. 23 through Nov. 3, the Visitors from 'V' will mark the sky with their distinctive red 'V' over several U.S. landmarks in different cities in preparation for their highly anticipated arrival to ABC on Nov. 3," ABC said in a release.

The network said the sky-written images will be visible multiple times during the day above and around cities such as Boston, Minneapolis, San Francisco, Seattle, Orlando, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, Atlanta and others.

Co-starring Elizabeth Mitchell, Morris Chestnut, Joel Gretsch, Lourdes Benedicto, Logan Huffman, Laura Vandervoort, Morena Baccarin and Scott Wolf, the show is described as a re-imagining of the 1980s' miniseries about the world's first encounter with an alien race.
