Oct. 23 (UPI) -- Harry Styles fans showed their support with the hashtag "#RespectHarry" after the singer was groped onstage.

The 23-year-old One Direction star's followers reacted with disgust after someone grabbed Styles' crotch during the We Can Survive benefit concert Saturday in Los Angeles.

One video shows Styles performing his song "Kiwi" at the Hollywood Bowl when he gets on his knees at the front of the stage. Excited fans reach out to touch the star, who pushes one hand away after he is groped.

"You can tell it freaked him out a little because as he continued performing, he avoided the section that fan was standing in," a source told Yahoo U.K.

Several social media users called out the offending fan on Twitter for "sexual assault."

"I'm in tears. Harry has created such a safe space for everyone, and this is how he's repaid? Sexual assault? I just... #RespectHarry," one person wrote.

"This is a prime example that men are not the only ones that touch women without permission! Women also sexually assault. #RespectHarry," a fan added.

"Harry deserves appreciation, support and respect from us. Harry is not an object, he is a human, you should always remember that. Treat ALL people with kindness AND respect. #RespectHarry," another person wrote.

Styles, who came to fame with the boy band One Direction, attended the concert Saturday after performing his final Harry Styles: Live on Tour show in North America in 2017. The tour will return to the United States next June.
