Sept. 27 (UPI) -- Taylor Swift congratulated fellow recording artist Cardi B on her No. 1 single.

"Sooo beautiful and lovely. Thank you @taylorswift for the flowers ....and I freaking love your music," Cardi B captioned a gif of herself with the bouquet.

Cardi B is the first female rapper to top the Billboard Hot 100 without a featured act. She discussed the achievement in an interview with Billboard at her celebration with Atlantic Records in New York.

"I'm feeling really good," she said. "Very emotional. All my family, all my friends are here."

"It was kind of like a closed race," she said of surpassing Swift. "I used to be mad, like, damn, why do I have to beat Taylor Swift? I like that damn song. I can't believe that it's like, okay, yeah, I hit number one, but it's like, history."

"Bodak Yellow" will appear on Cardi B's debut studio album. The rapper has yet to set a release date for the record, explaining she's "just not satisfied yet" with the material.

"I really wanted to release my second single with my album. I'm just not satisfied yet to drop my album," she said. "A lot of people just keep telling me to drop it, but it's not quite there yet. I was going to release it in October, but I think I'm going do it in November."
