Sept. 25 (UPI) -- South Korean boy band BTS is setting new records with its latest album.

Billboard reported Sunday that the K-pop group's EP Love Yourself 'Her' debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 in the week ending Sept. 21.

Love Yourself 'Her' is the highest-charting K-pop album to make the list. BTS also held the previous record with its 2016 album, Wings, which debuted at No. 26 on the Oct. 29, 2016 chart.

The achievement follows news BTS is the first Korean act to appear on Spotify's Global Top 50. The boy band's song "DNA" debuted at No. 50 on the list last week following Love Yourself 'Her's release Sept. 18.

In addition, Love Yourself 'Her' ranked No. 1 on 73 iTunes charts in the wake of its debut. Anticipation for the album was high, with the EP reaching No. 1 among Amazon music pre-orders in August.

"It's really a huge, big step for us," BTS member Rap Monster said of the album in a recent interview with Billboard. "Of course, every member is so excited about the album. We've just been practicing until now, day and night, to show these new songs and perfected performances."

"I left a message on our fan cafe the other day when we finished, that 'this EP will mark the turning point of BTS,'" the 23-year-old rapper added.
