People reported April 11 that Carey and Tanaka had called it quits after six months of dating.

"Mariah ended it -- everyone hoped that she would. She has better things to focus on," a source said at the time. "Mariah is happy. She is focusing on her kids and new music."

"Bryan was a good distraction after she split from [fiance] James [Packer]. This is a good time for her to be single and focus on herself," the insider added.

Carey split from Packer in October after a 10-month engagement. She was previously married to Nick Cannon, and shares 6-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with the actor. The pair reunited to celebrate their son and daughter's birthday in April.

"I can't believe it's been six years since you two came into this world," Carey wrote April 30. "I love you both more each day. You are the light of my life."
