March 8 (UPI) -- Joe Jonas says he'd want Camp Rock 3 to be an "R-rated" and "adult" film.

The 27-year-old singer said in an interview with Marie Claire that he'd be open to a new and more mature sequel with brother Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato.

"If it made sense, sure," he said. "For all of us -- Demi, Nick, it would be funny to do a spin on it. Do the graduating days, make it kinda dark. An adult film. Well, not an adult film. An R-rated film. We've joked around about the idea a couple times."

Jonas played Shane Gray in the 2008 Disney Channel movie and its 2011 sequel, Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. The films co-starred his brothers Nick and Kevin Jonas as Nate and Jason Gray, with Lovato as Mitchie Torres.

"Those guys will always be close to my heart," Lovato previously told Us Weekly. "So being able to work with them, whether it's Nick or Joe or Kevin, I'm always open to it."

Jonas had sparked renewed interest in Camp Rock 3 in February by sharing a photo with Lovato on Instagram. The DNCE frontman captioned the picture "CR3?"
