Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Nicki Minaj congratulated Blue Ivy in a note Thursday after hearing Beyoncé's pregnancy news. The 34-year-old rapper wrote a sweet message to Beyoncé's 5-year-old daughter on Instagram following word the "Formation" singer is pregnant and expecting twins with husband Jay Z.

"This beautiful little lady bug is so smart & special. You guys have no idea! So Dear Blue, you are going to make an AMAZING big sister. Love always, Nicki," she captioned a photo of Blue Ivy.
Beyoncé and Jay Z married in 2008 after six years of dating, and welcomed Blue Ivy in 2012. The 35-year-old singer announced Wednesday that she and Jay Z are expecting twins.
"We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes," she said at the time.
Beyoncé shared nude photos and a series of pictures with Blue Ivy on her website Thursday after announcing her pregnancy. She said in an ad for her Ivy Park line in September that her daughter inspired the collection.
"When I'm about to give up, I picture that one person that I love more than anyone. I picture them wherever they are in the world and I imagine myself running towards them. I see their face and they're smiling and cheering. They're so proud of me," the star said in the promo.
Minaj and Beyoncé are close friends who collaborated on the 2015 single "Feeling Myself." Minaj last released the album The Pinkprint in 2014, while Beyoncé released Lemonade in April.
