GLASGOW, Scotland, May 13 (UPI) -- Electro-pop band Chvrches has released a new song inspired by Electronic Arts' upcoming video game reboot, Mirrors Edge Catalyst.

Released on Thursday, the track, entitled "Warning Call" -- to appear on the game's official soundtrack -- features lyrics from the perspective of Mirror's Edge main protagonist Faith.

"I need it / So I hold on to every mistake that I made alone / And I don't lie when I say that we will never return to closing doors / Sleep tight in a new light through another warning call / Looked out on the cold ground / and we try to break the fall," sings Chvrches frontwoman Lauren Mayberry.

Catalyst, a reboot of 2008's Mirror's Edge, follows the story of Faith, a talented parkour freedom fighter who is rebelling against her city's totalitarian regime. The gameplay involves players leaping across rooftops from a first-person perspective.

"We were honored to be asked to contribute to the soundtrack for Mirror's Edge Catalyst," the band's Iain Cook said in a press release. "The sound of Chvrches' music resonates with the minimalist sci-fi dystopia of the Mirror's Edge world, and we feel that the song complements the drama, emotion and empowering themes of Faith's story."
