Dolly Parton announces new album and concert tour

This will be her first major U.S. and Canadian tour in more than 25 years.

NASHVILLE, March 8 (UPI) -- Country-music legend Dolly Parton has announced her plans to visit 60 cities on her Pure & Simple tour.

This will be her first major U.S. and Canadian tour in more than 25 years.

The shows are to support the summer release of the double-disc album Pure & Simple with Dolly's Biggest Hits, which will include both new material and old favorites.

"We're so excited to get out there and see the fans again," Parton said.

"I'm really looking forward to singing songs the fans have not heard in a while, as well as the hits, while debuting a few new ones off Pure & Simple."
