LOS ANGELES, Feb. 15 (UPI) -- Taylor Swift kicked off the 58th annual Grammy Awards ceremony Monday night with an electrifying rendition of her hit "Out of the Woods"

The pop star sported a sparkly blue-black jumpsuit and sleek bob haircut with bangs for the performance at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

LL Cool J is hosting the star-studded gala, which honors all genres of music.

"Thank you, Taylor Swift, for that new Grammy moment," the rapper-actor said. "Life is made of moments and, for more than half a century, the world's greatest musical heroes have come together just for one day, here on the Grammy stage, to celebrate the awesome power of music. With all that divides us today, our shared love of music unites us -- all of us. And, tonight, I want all of you watching around the world to take a good look at the amazing group of artists up front together right here -- our nominees and performers. These are the people that make this music's biggest night."
