VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Pop-music icon Janet Jackson has officially begun her first concert tour in four years.

USA Today said the 49-year-old Grammy Award-winner opened her electrifying show in Vancouver by previewing new music she recorded with Missy Elliott for her upcoming Unbreakable album, which features the current hit "No Sleeep."

People magazine reported Jackson performed that single, along with her classics "Rhythm Nation" and "Scream" during her concert.

The New York Times noted Jackson has kept a low profile since 2012 when she married Qatari business magnate Wissam Al Mana.

She reportedly wore a demure, white ensemble that covered her arms and legs throughout her comeback kick-off Monday and did not make any quick changes into her trademark, sexy costumes. Jackson's backup dancers were also dressed head to toe in white.

Jackson was modestly attired when she accepted the Ultimate Icon: Music Dance Visual Award during the 15th annual BET Awards in June, as well.

She took to Twitter Tuesday to express her gratitude to her fans.

"Hey you guys, Thank you for making No Sleeep #1 again & for showing so much love at last night's show in Vancouver," she tweeted.

Jackson's last album of new music Discipline was released in 2008. A greatest hits collection Number Ones was released in 2009, the same year her older brother Michael died of an accidental, doctor-administered overdose of anesthesia and sedatives. He was 50.
