NEW YORK, May 29 (UPI) -- Lil Mama released her "Sausage" music video to general derision Thursday. The '90s-style video sees the 25-year-old hip hop artist promote safe sex and pay tribute to stars such as Madonna and Michael Jackson.
Lil Mama also channeled Mary J. Blige by donning a black scarf and sunglasses similar to the 44-year-old singer's ensemble in her 1997 "Not Gon Cry" music video.
"Sausage" failed to impress fans, who mocked the recording artist and the video on Twitter. Many criticized Lil Mama's homage to Blige and the absence of the original "Sausage Movement" video creators.
