Shania Twain announces farewell concert tour

"I just really want to go out with a bang," Twain said on Good Morning America Wednesday.

NEW YORK, March 4 (UPI) -- Shania Twain has announced plans for a 48-city, North American concert tour to begin in Seattle June 5.

The Rock This Country tour, which will be Twain's first in 11 years, will likely be her last.

"This is a very, very important time on the road for me," Twain said on Wednesday's edition of Good Morning America. "I just feel like I'm ready to hang my hat up in that regard. I just really want to go out with a bang."

The five-time Grammy Award-winner wrapped up her successful two-year residency in Las Vegas in December after 105 shows.
