Tim McGraw will perform for Glen Campbell at the Oscars

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 29 (UPI) -- Grammy-winning singer, songwriter and actor Tim McGraw will perform the Oscar-nominated song "I'm Not Gonna Miss You" for Glen Campbell at the 87th Academy Awards.

The song is from the documentary Glen Campbell...I'll Be Me, which chronicles the 78-year-old actor and singer's battle with Alzheimer's disease and farewell concert tour.

"We couldn't think of anyone better than Tim McGraw to properly celebrate Oscar nominee Glen Campbell. Tim is the consummate country artist and will bring a bit of Nashville to the Oscars stage," show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said in a joint statement Thursday.

"I'm honored to be asked to sing this powerful song from one of the true legends of the music industry," added McGraw.

The Oscars ceremony is to be hosted by Neil Patrick Harris Feb. 22 in Los Angeles, live on ABC.
