Lil Wayne sues Cash Money for $51 million, breach of contract

NEW YORK, Jan. 29 (UPI) -- Rapper Lil Wayne is suing his label Cash Money after he claims it failed to release his album and has withheld tens of millions of dollars.

The album, "Tha Carter V," has been long awaited by his fans who have been disappointed by the constant delays.

On his Twitter in December, Lil Wayne blamed the problems on the label and declared his desire to leave.

Lil Wayne was supposed to receive an $8 million advance and another $2 million upon completion, but has reportedly received nothing. Since he has not been paid, he stipulates he can leave his contract. He also seeks $51 million for the album.
