EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Jan. 27 (UPI) -- Trey Songz, Chris Brown and Maroon 5 will perform in New Jersey's Izod Center as scheduled despite the recent announcement that the arena will be shut down at the end of the month.

On Tuesday, Live Nation announced Brown and Songz's show will take place on Feb. 21 and Maroon 5 will perform at the arena's latest scheduled concert on March 8. The announcement comes almost two weeks after the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority agreed to close the Izod Center's doors in late January.

As part of the agreement, the Prudential Center in Newark -- which is paying the state $2 million for the shutdown of Izod -- will get hosting rights to events scheduled at the center. The deal, however, allows for the center to be open until March and Prudential will get the revenue from all shows that take place after January.

The last show to play at the Izod will be the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, which has scheduled appearances from March 18 to March 22.

The decision to shut down Izod came after sporting officials announced the arena was sustaining mostly on subsidies from the state and was facing $8.5 million in losses this year.
