Adam Levine to perform 'Lost Stars' at the Oscars

The song is from Levine's celebrated independent film "Begin Again." The track is up for the Best Original Song Oscar.

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 26 (UPI) -- Grammy-winning singer, songwriter and actor Adam Levine is to perform the Oscar-nominated song "Lost Stars" at the 87th Academy Awards, show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron announced Monday.

The song is from Levine's celebrated independent film Begin Again, which co-stars Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo and James Corden. The track is up for Best Original Song.

"Adam Levine is an exceptional and dynamic artist. We're thrilled to have him make his Oscars stage debut this year," Zadan and Meron said in a joint statement.

Neil Patrick Harris is to host the Oscars ceremony Feb. 22 on ABC.
