Lady Gaga shares selfie with Mariah Carey

NEW YORK, Dec. 22 (UPI) -- Lady Gaga shared a selfie with Mariah Carey on Sunday.

The 28-year-old pop star posted a photo of herself backstage with the 44-year-old singer on Instagram. The picture was taken at the Beacon Theatre in New York, where Carey is currently in residence.

"Hey ladies, Merry [Expletive]ing Christmas, Love, Mariah and Gaga," Lady Gaga captioned the snapshot. "This lady is so kind, such a star, and sounding legendary tonight at Beacon Theatre."

Lady Gaga last released duet album Cheek to Cheek with Tony Bennett in September. The pop star's third studio album, Artpop, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in 2013, and includes the singles "Applause" and "Do What U Want."

Carey will complete her six-show residence at the Beacon Theatre on Monday. The singer released her 14th studio album, Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse, in May. The record debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, and includes the singles "#Beautiful" and "You're Mine (Eternal)."
