Bette Midler covers 'Waterfalls' by TLC

TLC first released "Waterfalls" in 1995.

NEW YORK, Oct. 23 (UPI) -- Bette Midler has covered TLC song "Waterfalls."

The 68-year-old singer recorded a version of the hit single for her upcoming 14th studio album It's the Girls!. The record pays tribute to girl groups such as The Ronettes, The Supremes and The Shangri-Las.

TLC first released "Waterfalls" in 1995. The song was the third single to debut from their second studio album, CrazySexyCool, and spent several weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The track became a signature song for the group, and was notable for referencing the illegal drug trade and HIV/AIDS.

Midler most recently released holiday album Cool Yule in 2006. The singer has debuted 13 studio albums since 1972, and sold more than 30 million records worldwide. It's the Girls! is scheduled for release November 4.
