Pitbull to host the American Music Awards for a second year

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 20 (UPI) -- Recording superstar Pitbull is to host the American Music Awards show for a second consecutive year, Dick Clark Productions announced Monday.

The event is to air from the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE Nov. 23 on ABC.

Pitbull is also scheduled to sing, joining previously announced performer Charli XCX. Additional performers and presenters are to be announced in the coming weeks.

"World, who would have thought Pitbull hosting the AMAs two years in a row?" Pitbull said in a statement. "The harder I work, the luckier I get. Thank you ABC and Dick Clark Productions for the amazing opportunity -- more than anything let's get ready to have fun."

"Pitbull is a global superstar and multi-talented powerhouse, who delivered one of the most exciting shows in American Music Awards history when he hosted in 2013. This year will be no different," added American Music Awards producer Larry Klein. "We're working together to create elements of the show that will wow audiences and take the night to a whole new level."
