LOS ANGELES, Sept. 18 (UPI) -- Lana Del Rey has canceled her European tour dates due to illness.

The 29-year-old singer canceled two concerts with Virgin Radio earlier this week, and was scheduled to perform at the BBC Radio 1 Lounge, among other venues.

"For medical reasons independent of our will, the artist has been forced to cancel all promotional activities planned in Europe over the coming days," label Polydor/Universal Music said in a statement.

Del Rey is expected to perform five concerts in Austin and Mexico City in October. The singer has complained of a mystery illness in the past.

"I'd been sick on tour for about two years with this medical anomaly that doctors couldn't figure out," she told Fader in June. "That's a big part of my life: I just feel really sick a lot of the time and can't figure out why."

Del Rey released her third studio album, Ultraviolence, in June. The record debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and includes the singles "West Coast," "Shades of Cool" and "Brooklyn Baby."
