August Alsina collapses on stage

Witnesses say he was taken out on a stretcher but was well enough to wave to his fans on his way to the ambulance.

NEW YORK, Sept. 16 (UPI) -- Singer August Alsina frightened fans when he collapsed on stage in middle of a performance Monday night at Irving Plaza in downtown Manhattan.

Witnesses say he was walking near the front of the stage when he fell over the crowd before security guards rushed to his side and moved him backstage. Paramedics then moved him from the building.

According to concertgoers, he was taken out on a stretcher but was well enough to wave to his fans on his way to the ambulance, reports TMZ.

There is no word yet on what caused the fainting spell.
