NEW YORK, Aug. 7 (UPI) -- All nine living members of Wu-Tang Clan reunited Wednesday on The Daily Show.
Method Man, Inspectah Deck, Ghostface Killah, GZA, RZA, Raekwon, U-God, Masta Killa and Cappadonna appeared on the program to debut their new song, "Ron O'Neal." The group performed the single live, discussed its new album A Better Tomorrow and addressed Raekwon's reconciliation with the clan.
"I think we are all striving for a better tomorrow," RZA shared. "Wu-Tang, we have something in common with each other -- a brotherhood, a respect. And when we said 'a better tomorrow,' we're starting to make a better tomorrow for ourselves, but also to inspire a better tomorrow for the world."
Raekwon had gone on strike earlier this year due to creative differences with RZA. The rapper acknowledged that excellence in music is important, but said it must be balanced with family time.
"We trailblazers in the music business, we been around the world, we doing our job," he said. "I consider this a sport. I think it's important as an athlete of music to make sure that you've got your business together, make sure you feel happy in whatever you do."
"You just want to feel good about it and at the end of the day you've got to have your i's dotted and your t's crossed in business, because we have families," he elaborated. "We go out there and work for our families ... I think it's important for me to go out there and do what I say I'm going to do, [then] get back home to them."
A Better Tomorrow is scheduled for release in November. The record is Wu-Tang Clan's sixth studio album, and was conceived to celebrate the group's 20th anniversary. The clan last released 8 Diagrams in 2007, although many members have released solo albums since.
